This hyper can produce powerful effects on himself and his ally through his mysterious contracts. His skills combine support and combat suitable for most battles, but with the right equipment choices he can become a devastating attacker.
Story[ | ]
She was the queen of a small kingdom. Her marriage was arranged but her husband proved to be a good and wise ruler beside her. The fact that her kingdom was small and powerless in the shadow of another nation did not stop her from appreciating all that she had. Her subjects, too, praised her for being a kind and generous queen. She loved her kingdom more than anything, which made it all the more painful when the neighboring nation invaded. The kingdom was but farmland and so had no military to speak of, so the king and queen surrendered immediately. However, that meant nothing to the invaders. They put everyone to the sword, including the king and their children. And the queen, her eyes red with tears, was denied reuniting with them in death. She was originally the princess of another land, and the invaders chose to lock her in a tower."Shall we make a deal?"
Just as it seemed her life was over, he appeared. The young man offered her a contract, an agreement that would grant her the power to take her revenge. The only price was the soul trapped in her body. She consented immediately, for what use did she have for a soul in her state? Empowered by the contract, the fallen queen ravaged the invading nation and burned them to the last man. When everyone at last lay dead, the young man came to complete the contract. He claimed the queen's soul... and that of the unborn child she carried.
Demons are fickle in their nature. Their lives are nigh infinite, and so they bore easily. To keep themselves entertained they engage in all sorts of strange and unseemly behavior. Cain is one of the oddest. He collects souls as a hobby, but so do many demons. What is odd about him is his obsession with writing contracts for the souls he collects. Once bound by the contract, even high-ranking demons cannot break its terms. More than a few demons got into serious trouble for signing their souls away recklessly. Cain was certainly strong enough to take any soul as he pleases, so his contracts made little sense to his fellow demons.
Cain always fulfills his end of the bargain and is polite to those he contracts. But that certainly doesn't make him a good person. He may act oddly to demons, but he is as demonic as they come. Honestly, reaping one's soul with contract instead of brute force does not change much. He offers the sweetest deal when his subject is the most desperate, taking advantage of their weakness. Cain's true cruelty is shown when he takes away their soul the second the contract is complete.

Strategy[ | ]
Don't let his charming words and good looks fool you, Cain is as devious as they come. Listed as a Support but more akin to a Striker, Cain selects a member of his team to support. But he's not without his reasons, for his contract helps him to obtain Soulstones. With each Soulstone obtain Cain becomes stronger and when he collects 15 his abilities are boosted further and with the right build he can challenge just about anyone for damage.
His kit is designed around keeping himself and his contract alive which differs from most supports which focus on the whole team rather than individual members, but he does his job very well and if he keeps out of trouble he can ensure that both him and his contract will always survive the fight.
Similar to Strikers, Cain's "Infernal Blast" is a simple DPS check that is not only is useful for activating Breath of Fire but also heals for a percentage of the damage done, giving him good sustain. Combined with "Demonic Barrier" which heals a percentage of damage taken to the shield, Cain has a lot of presence on the battlefield. When it's time to make a play, "Abyssal Ward" is devastating to any targets hit, not only does it slow for a large amount but it also reduces the targets Defense, when paired with some CC to lock the target down, Cain and his contract can make easy work of any enemy Hypers. However not all battles go as planned and Cain has one of the best panic buttons in the game, his ultimate "Seal of Immortality". When activate he is invulnerable and his health is instantly raised and locked at a certain percentage, but it does not cure debuffs, so while it is impossible to get attacked or CC'd he is still affected by any restricting effects done prior to execution which can mean that if used to escape, it can fail. Outside of an escape though, his ultimate has another bigger use, protecting a certain target. Since it grants invulnerability it makes his contract immune to everything, as such it can allow engages, dives or set-ups that would otherwise be impossible or unlikely due to say a Turner or Elendis trap or just raw damage that would otherwise kill the contract, this allows Cain to give his contract more utility than they are used to.
But as strong as Cain is he is limited greatly by his ability to obtain Soulstones. If Cain is starved of Soulstones it's very difficult for him to maintain high DPS and while he can be played as a tankier support, his true potential is through damage as he lacks hard CC or a method of hard CC, such as Victoria's Chastise, that other Supports have.
