Curse Eye is one of the playable Hypers in Hyper Universe.

Introduction[edit | edit source]

This hyper can heal allies or harm enemies depending entirely on his mood. The shift is determined by his ultimate, so be aware of his skills and what the situation calls for at all times. He can even use his death strategically to give his allies a boost.

Story[edit | edit source]

The cavern served as the shortest path between the eastern and western reaches of the continent. It was a journey of a few hours through dark and dank passages, but forging across the craggy mountains could take up to a week at best. Curse Eye chose to live in this dismal place for just that reason, that travelers would be forced to enter his home and subject themselves to his whims. His greatest joy was tormenting people, and in that deep place he could do that to his evil heart's content.

Over the years Curse Eye's reputation grew, as more and more travelers returned with tales of the horrible creature of the caves. An expedition was formed of great warriors and mages from across the land to find and deal with this beast once and for all. Curse Eye, preying on the weak and unwary, was hardly a match for a band of dedicated heroes. In fact, the assembled adventurers were shocked to find the great terror of the mountain pass to be little more than an annoyance. Archmage Kajan dismissed him as a sniveling whelp and the heroes departed to celebrate, leaving Curse Eye utterly defeated.

As they left the caves, a priestess-in-training named Fiora stayed behind. She had come to provide healing services but, as none were needed, she was left with a deep sense of pity for Curse Eye. She was acutely aware of the terror he had caused but, laying there on the cold, damp rock, he looked like a victim himself. Fiora took it upon herself to heal the creature before rejoining her comrades.

"You be good from now on, okay?"

Her parting words stuck in Curse Eye's mind, percolating as a warm, unfamiliar feeling engulfed him. As he pondered her words and her deeds he discovered a new emotion deep within him. The shock of discovering love for the first time was so traumatic for the creature that Curse Eye's psyche split in two, creating an appeasing good side and a malicious bad side. Despite the chaos this caused him, Curse Eye became obsessed with discovering new emotions, and with finding the woman who had set him on this path, and for those reasons he has come to Hyper Universe."This is me, and that is me."
