Liu is one of the playable Hypers in Hyper Universe.
Introduction[edit | edit source]
This hyper can deal immense damage in an instant, but needs to be in the thick of battle to do it. Linking his skills can easily destroy a hyper, and using his provoke skill can dictate the flow of battle for his allies. His skills burn mana quickly, so fights need to be settled before he runs out.
Story[edit | edit source]
When he was a child, Liu was small and weak. He was shy, stuttered, and could not meet the eyes of anyone who spoke to him. With his narrow shoulders, he always looked tiny even around those smaller than him. He was teased when he was little, and bullied as he grew older. Bullies were merciless to him, but he never fought back. He simply thought there was nothing he could do.
The first time Liu saw him, he was awe-struck. The man was the hero of the action movie that was sweeping the nation, a movie Liu wasn't even going to see if his parents hadn't dragged him from his room. The hero was thin and wiry like Liu, but was faster and stronger than anyone. That film changed Liu's whole life. He began watching more and more martial arts movies, and became obsessed with the strength of his new hero.
At home, Liu began copying the moves he saw on the big screen. What began as awkward flailing became careful, measured moves through hours and days and weeks of practice. His body began to toughen up, and his thin frame filled out with muscle. He walked with more confidence, which began to drive the bullies away. But that was only a side effect of his true goal. Liu wanted to be as great as the man who inspired him.
That man Liu idolized is gone now, his life snuffed out by a tragic accident. Liu mourned his death the day it happened, but he refused to give in to despair. Instead, he realized a new goal, to be the successor to his hero. Those who saw Liu's evolution also saw how close he was coming to matching the mastery of his fallen hero. This energized him further, and now his life is devoted to becoming the greatest martial artist of the age."He was a legend and an inspiration. I am thankful to have such an icon to strive for, and I hope that I walk the path as well as he did."
